”The Way” Homeschool Academy

Black and Yellow Modern Construction Company Trifold Brochure

We are continuously looking for individuals between 5th-High School grades, male or female who are looking to take a non-traditional path to their academic/athletic life journey.  The idea of this program was years in the making, studying, traveling overseas and figuring out what helps athletes succeed around the world.  We determined the biggest factor to development was “time”; lack there of or the misuse of it.

Our program provides an opportunity for our athletes to develop their craft with more TIME to train, more TIME to compete, whether it be domestic or international travel or competitions, all while balancing the TIME demands and expectations of their academics.  Let’s be clear, academics are extremely important to us and is not something we take lightly.  In fact, it’s the most important. Former academy student, Aidan Squire, a Greco-Roman specialist, has been our longest standing student to date.  Currently attending Northern Michigan University on an athletic scholarship, Aidan spent 5 years with our program from 8th grade through high school, traveling the country, the world, doing homework in airports, planes and sometimes in other countries, all to accomplish his dreams.

We just want parents to know that there isn’t just one path to college and beyond, especially in athletics.  One of the most notable examples of this is in the sport of Gymnastics.  In our time overseas, we have come to find that athletes with big dreams, are going to this type of program.  We focus on training athletically, and what is really needed academically to help get into college.  There is such a small window of time to be able to accomplish all we want in our peak years.  For the most part that time ends around the age of 25-28.  Consider we don’t really start competing competitively until around the age 14-15, that gives just us about 10 real years of our lives to attempt to accomplish something great, and 8 of those are spent in a classroom, 8 hours a day.  We can help change that.

We are extending our program for the 2026-2027 School Year to encompass a full year, from September through mid July, with a break after to mid Aug, with periodical breaks in schedule during the school year.  Generally the in-school week goes from Monday-Thursday with Friday’s usually being travel days for competitions or a normal training day for those that don’ have care options for their children at home.  Academically we use an accelerated home school academic program, Acellus Academy, which my own children used for a couple of years and they loved.  Children can do work all year round, or keep them on a normal school year schedule, either way, they get what they need and complete their assignments in a fraction of the time in takes in normal school.  Feel free to explore Acellus Academy on the web.

Below is a description of the program.  We hope you can be open minded to non traditional avenues and pathways and can see the value in it.
